EP300R Series Right Angle Gear Reducer — 90° Spiral Bevel Planetary, 1,000–500,000 Nm
The EP300R is a Right Angle Bevel Gearbox that integrates a spiral bevel input stage with multi-stage planetary reduction into a single sealed housing. The 90° drive change happens inside the unit — no external bevel box, no additional mounting bracket. Output torque runs from 1,000 Nm (EP300R) to 500,000 Nm (EP321R) across 16 frame sizes, all sharing the same bolt-circle family. At up to 150 kW of transmissible power and gear ratios from 6.9 to 9,000, the EP300R line handles fixed plant, heavy mobile equipment, and agricultural machinery without oversizing. Input options — IEC/NEMA flanges, axial-piston hydraulic motors, orbit motors, and solid shafts — connect directly to your existing prime mover.

EP300R Series High Torque Right Angle Gearbox — Full Model Range
All 16 frames share the same right-angle spiral bevel architecture. The R-suffix digit (2, 3, or 4) indicates the number of planetary reduction stages and sets the achievable ratio range within each frame.

Design Features of the EP300R Right Angle Gear Reducer
- →
Spiral bevel 90° input — integrated, not bolted on. The bevel set is machined and lapped inside the same housing as the planetary stages. Eliminating a separate bevel gearbox reduces total drivetrain length by 20–35% and removes one additional oil seal and two bearing positions from the maintenance schedule. - →
500,000 Nm in the same bolt-circle family. The EP321R delivers 500× the torque of the EP300R yet mounts identically. Engineers can scale a machine design upward without redrawing the interface plate or changing the motor flange pattern. - →
Four output shaft configurations in one catalogue. Solid keyed, splined solid, splined hollow, and hollow-with-shrink-disc outputs cover the majority of OEM shaft interfaces without custom machining. Specifying the output type adds nothing to lead time for stocked frames. - →
As a Right Angle Bevel Gearbox for conveyor systems, the EP309R–EP313R bracket (18,000–55,000 Nm) handles cross-belt sorter drives and 90° transfer points where the motor must sit perpendicular to the belt axis and torque demands peak on start-up. - →
Brake options without third-party add-ons. DC and AC electric brakes, plus a hydraulically released parking brake, are factory-fitted inside the housing envelope. No external caliper, no additional shaft extension. - →
Silent running by design. Spiral bevel contact ratio exceeds 1.5, spreading the tooth load across multiple teeth simultaneously. At rated speed, radiated noise is typically 3–6 dB lower than equivalent straight-bevel or worm-gear units of the same torque class.
Where the EP300R High Torque Right Angle Gearbox Is Used
Conveyor & Sorting Systems
Right angle bevel gearbox for conveyor systems where the drive motor mounts perpendicular to the belt. EP309R–EP313R covers most cross-belt sorter and transfer-belt applications (18,000–55,000 Nm).
Agricultural Machinery
Rotary tillers, spreaders, and PTO-driven mowers where the engine or tractor PTO drives at 540 or 1,000 RPM and the working head needs a 90° offset output at much lower speed.
Marine & Offshore Winches
Deck anchor winches and mooring systems requiring a 90° drive path between hydraulic motor and drum. The integrated parking brake holds load at 0 RPM without a separate brake caliper.
Construction & Mining
Drill-head slewing, concrete mixer drums, and tunnel-boring auxiliary drives. The EP315R–EP321R bracket (100,000–500,000 Nm) handles the peak shock torque common in hard-rock cutting.
Renewable Energy
Solar-tracker azimuth and elevation drives where a right angle gear reducer provides precise, low-backlash positioning between motor and slewing ring — critical for maintaining panel angle within ±0.1°.
Build a Complete Drive System Around the EP300R Right Angle Gear Reducer
The EP300R bolts directly to a range of matched components. Ordering as a system reduces interface risk and consolidates shipping to a single pallet.
| Component | Typical Specification | Interface Point |
|---|---|---|
| IE3 Electric Motor | 7.5–110 kW, 4-pole, IEC B5 flange, 1,450 RPM | Bolts directly to IEC adaptor on EP300R input — no coupling required on flanged versions |
| Drive Sprocket | ANSI #80–#120 roller chain, 15–21T, keyed bore to suit output shaft | Mounts on solid keyed output; transfers torque to chain-driven secondary shaft |
| Marine Winch Drum | Ø 280–420 mm, 8–12 mm wire rope, SWL 5–15 t | Splined hollow or shrink-disc output on EP309R–EP313R for deck winch and aquaculture duty |
| PTO Drive Shaft | Series 4–6 cross-joint, 1-3/8″ 6-spline or 1-3/4″ 20-spline | Connects tractor PTO to EP300R solid input shaft on agricultural drives |
| Elastomeric Jaw Coupling | 2,000–20,000 Nm, 92–98 Shore A spider insert | Absorbs torsional shock pulses between motor and bevel input, reducing bevel-tooth fatigue life penalty |
